New High-speed Cap Making Line in Production
The recently delivered high-speed cap making line to a customer in Turkey is in full production now. The whole equipment has been installed in a brand new production hall with store room for tools and spare parts. The line consists of an END-O-MAT 50t press with double zigzag sheet feeder operating without idle stroke, the well proven high-speed CAP-O-MAT cap former, operating in three forming steps for pre-curling, curling and lugging, stationary double head liners, an oven, a carton packing station, the complete conveying system as well as two video inspection systems for both cap sides.
The END-O-MAT press has an 8-out tool for dia. 38 mm, a 6-out tool for dia 63 mm and 66 mm and a 5-out tool for dia. 82 mm, running up to 200 strokes per minute. The safety button forming is final in the press tooling.
The CAP-O-MAT operates with rail pre-curling in the first station, with die curling and die lugging in the second and third station. The die tools are in cartridge design with integrated overload protection.
The line can be tooled for 38 RTO/38RTS, having a capacity of 1200 cpm, for 63 and 66 RTS/ 63 and 66 RSB, having a capacity on 1100 cpm and what is very remarkable for 82 RTS/82RSB running 1000 cpm with high efficiency.
The line is changed over frequently.
 
NEW: Integrated roll seaming for CAN-O-MAT II  is now available
After successful introduction of integrated roll seaming into the CAN-O-MAT I for a diameter range of 52 mm to 99 mm (202 to 401), the CAN-O-MAT II for a diameter range of 73 mm to 153 mm (300 to 603) is now available with integrated roll seaming, too.
The roll seamer has a small pitch circle diameter (same as the CAN-O-MAT I) and is available with 4 spindles and with 6 spindles. The 4-spindle version can process diameters of up to 153 mm (603) and has a capacity of up to 300 cpm whereas the 6-spindle version is limited to a diameter of 127 mm (502), but has a capacity of up to 450 cpm. The CAN-O-MAT II roll seamer has the same favourable features as the CAN-O-MAT I roll-seamer which are seaming at the bottom end (better access for setting and change over), only one rigid lever for both rolls, easy setting procedure of the seaming rolls in axial and radial direction and others more (see CAN-O-MAT roll seaming).
The 4-spindle roll seamer can be combined with a 4-spindle flanger (small p.c.d.) and a 6-spindle beader (large p.c.d.), the 6-spindle roll seamer can be combined with a 6-spindle flanger (small p.c.d.) and a 9-spindle beader (large p.c.d.) in one machine frame which results in a very small and compact machine for this diameter and capacity range.
